The Josenart design studio conceived the Alburgh as a study in the elegance of the torch-form sconce—one of interior design's most enduring silhouettes—and elevated it through a single extraordinary detail. A hand-forged knot integrated into the iron arm at its midpoint. Rather than applying the knot as a decorative ornament. Skilled artisans shape it directly from the arm itself, bending, crossing, and tightening the metal into a form that honors centuries of ironworking tradition. This distinctive feature reflects the blacksmith's mark of mastery, craftsmanship, and timeless artistry. The arm runs the full height of the fixture — from the delicate loop finial at its base, past the round matte black wall canopy. Up through the knot, and continuing to a second loop at the crown where it cradles the shade. This continuous line — broken only by the knot — gives the Alburgh an almost calligraphic quality. As if someone drew the fixture with a single stroke of extraordinary confidence.
